As a Nascar viewer for the past 5 seasons and fan of the games, playing Nascar 09 for the 360 was visually great, but I really think that EA sports has got to start testing these games because the number of glitches is just unbelievable and unacceptable. It takes the competitive fun right out of the game. They need to return to the Arcade style like in 2007.

I have nearly all of the EA NASCAR games starting with 98. Through the years not only have the graphics changed but also the realism. If for some chance you dont think that these games are challenging, perhaps you should check your assist levels... I personally play with zero assists and race a minimum of 50%... this not only puts pitstops into the equation but allows for the game to mimic true car physics. The car WILL change and you WILL have to keep up with it or you WILL lose.

I think he was refering to Formula 1 drivers and Indy drivers that are not nearly as good in NASCAR as thier more "simple" fellow racers. Juan Pablo Montoya is the only one of them with a win, and that was on a road course. NASCAR is 200MPH inches away on the sides, and touching bumpers. F1 cars make 12-15 passes in a race. At Talladega the record for lead changes is over 70. Formula 1 cars tap somebody and thier broken. No thanks. Rubbing is racing.

Exactly this game is disappointing and has gotten worse over the years. No manufacturers on the COT"s is stupid. I prefer Nascar racing 2003, better graphics, and go download COT carsets mod with extra paint schemes,hell somebody already made Jeff Gordon s 2009 firestorm paint scheme.

Yes, people don't understand that racing is a marginal activity. Example: Karting because is cheap and popular. The faster karting categories is a superkart 250, and it's burn 30 litres for a full week-end of racing. We talk about 75 miles with qualification and testing. Now, compare that with a KIA Rondo that done 22 m/g average, we have 12 litres. But now, multiply 12 by the number of SUV that been drive for 75 miles one day. And 30 by the number of kart making 60 miles one day.

You want to see gas prices go down? ban the military. Racing uses less than 1% of a specific type of fuel. Race cars are tuned to burn the fuel they are given perfectly. Cow farts are more of a problem than all of the racing in this country together. You want to make a difference be for something instead of against something else. I'm 25 now and I've been watching NASCAR races for 20 years and I have to agree with many people when I say it's dieing slowly. I competly understand the COT was designed for safety but give the teams some leeway in terms of adjustabilty of the cars. Take that retarded foreign car wing off and put the blade back. Let them play with the motor and suspension a little more so they can tune it for "better racing" and stop boxing everyone in. Personally, I LOVED the look of the last Monte Carlo.

And just so you know, you cant drive an F1 car at speed at 90% of the tracks Nascar goes too! They do at Indy cause its so flat! They produce so much downforce that the drivers would pass out because the G's go through the roof on a real banked track! Example of this happened at Texas in 2002 I think it was when CHAMPCAR was supposed to race there and they couldnt due to drivers passing out in practice! They were getting clocked at 252MPH around Texas and someone passed out and got hurt!

The average F1 car has about 750HP when a Nascar has what, 900HP! Also fuel injected cars are always going to be quicker when they power is that close! Jeff's fastest lap when they did this was 1.3 seconds slower then the pole for the year before! He said it would take him a while to get in shape and alot of practice to get the rest of that out of the car! Riding 5 miles a day is nothing! Ummm no. Their final race this season attracted 30 Million, an all time record for F1. And that includes 3 viewing markets of France Brazil and Britain. NASCAR pulls about 18 Million per race with only one viewing market, America. Some beleive it would be in the 30-35 Million range with all combined viewing markets. Dan Amon does an excellent job of explaining the intricacies and complexity of Nascar driving. Unfortunately he neglected to mention that the race cars require gasoline in order to complete the race. Many drivers forget to fill their tanks prior to the race and end up stuck on the track or in the pit area. Also, and here is where it gets complicated, they need to ADD gas at some point during the race or they will stall on the racetrack. I'm surprised Amon didn't bring that up.
