um luke has never dodged 10 blasts at once, not sure what jedi-wanked movie you are watching phasers do not fire at the speed of light either, watch some episodes and you'll notice the front of the beam travel across the screen pulse phaser rifles are even slower, and blasters have faster traveling bolts than both. oh and by the way, the force DOES help speed, ever heard of something called, oh I dunno "Force Speed" ? Obi-wan and Qui-gon used it in episode 1 to run from the Droidekas.

yes the force would help reflexes... not speed. Luke skywalker dodge how many right after each other? That is impossible unless he moves the speed of light. How can you dodge three shots at once? even if you know where they are going. You cant unless they are really slow. Like in star wars. Luke skywaler does not jump out of the way, or dodge when then move he dodges 10 blasts and shit. Which would mean there lasers are super slow.

so the scenario could be the bio ships unleash that blast against a Venator, the Venator's shields are impacted and the venator crew notice that they were hit by something unusually powerful for this galaxy, the force of the blast starts to push the venator, but the engines flare up and the venator levels out and pushes back, species 8472 retreat cause a ship just survived their blast with no apparent damage, (though the shields did take some, almost as much as a single Acclamator shot.)

B. had a planetary shield been up that could repel 200 gigatons or more, than Species 8472 would not have been able to destroy the planet so easily, they would have had to break through the shields first. so the chain reaction has to start before something that destructive happends, if the chain reaction is halted by say a shield, than the power of that blast isn't anywhere near enough to destroy a star destroyer, let alone a planet.

not only that but species 8472's raw fire output during that planetary destruction was less than 200 gigatons, the firepower of a single shot from an acclamator dropship. the reason why the species 8472 planet buster trick worked was cause A. it had a similar affect on the planet as a phaser on max setting has on a rockface, IE a chain reaction turning normal matter into neutrinos, but the point is, it was a chain reaction, so the raw fire output is deceptively low.

sorry pal, but the books are not pure nonsense, the ICS books are canon and the firepower and shields star wars vessels have make it so that phasers just won't cut it, if you pardon the pun. in fact, from the ICS stats a single Venator class star destroyer could destroy thousands of borg cubes on it's own, and that's without having it's weapons go to full power or launching fighters or using the spha/t cannons as stated before the ICS books are canon, deal with it.

Yeah, but a big part in Thrash metal's birth was the annoyance of 80's Glam metal. So Glam kinda raised the need of something more heavyer and less commercial. :) Musically they don't have really much same features.

This seen was important in that Biggs influence Luke to join the rebellion. It should have been put back in the DVD version, I cannot belive George Lucas said that he lost this sceen, and some how this guy found it and restored it. thank you Broken Toe for doing this I am a big Star Wars fan and episode 4 is my all time favorite. I did not like the added special effects that Lucas did for the rerelease.

Does anybody else think it's weird that Biggs supports Luke joining the Academy, when he himself is about to join the Rebels because he is against the Empire? Also why is Biggs afraid of being drafted into Imperial service? Isn't he already IN imperial service, being that he went to the Academy?

So then whenever you find a movie you like online, just right click it and hit download, then if you have a video converter you can convert it to whatever format you want (I recommend Total Video Converter just because it will read oddball formats).
