No it's not, people who have tattoos (as well as the artists that do them) are still judged negatively and given bad reputations when they're discovered. Granted, with the rise of the new generations coming into the professional work world, you see more stereotypically "normal" people with tattoos. But tattooing is still "taboo".

One of the lovely things about Art was that to look at him, one wouldn't expect such a pure, but powerful, sound to come out of him. The Simon & Garfunkel concert I attended in the '70's was one of the best I've attended, not to mention proving the emotional power of live singing vs lip synching. Both Paul and Art gave it their all during a concert, and it was appreciated and remembered well.
