Hi, Glad to hear you got your crime buster working! I guess you were able to fabricate the flint holder. I'm also happy to hear that my vids sparked your kids into collecting toys. I will probably contact you via email to see find out how you fabricated the flint holder. Thanks

Hi, Congrats on getting yourself a Crime Buster. Yes, there is a little door on the backside of the rifle and a small metal bracket goes inside and it holds two silver flints. As you probably know, the flints cause sparks in the red barrel when you pull the metal handle on the front of the rifle. I think they still sell flints for the old style cigarette lighters, but finding a "flint bracket" will be a challenge. Send your email address in the messages here and I'll send some pics. DD

I have one I could post showing it firing but I'm having trouble uploading my videos because I now have real video and it is supported by quicktime and it won't upload to youtube. Once I get it figured out, I'll post again.
By: dezurtdude. on 23 Sep 08, 00:41:58
Thanks Leon. Yes, it is a better thought to think it is old store stock or a gift someone forgot to give. I have some vids to post but I now have quicktime and they won't upload on youtube.

Thanks for the support. Normally, I just ignore that stuff but this jerk went and commented on every video I had. I deleted his rubbish but fired off on him here and left that one. Many Johnny Sevens show up on UK Ebay and some "taty" ones are offered but you may fair better by buying one from the US. They go for less money and even "taty" ones in the UK seem to go for a lot of money.

Yeah, its pretty sad if that's the only reason why the toys are still in mint condition.... but lets just say that someone "forgot" to give the present to some kid and discovered the toy 60 years later! Awesome vid! Good luck for your future collection, and i can't wait for future posts!

By: dudeabc209. on 21 Sep 08, 13:43:18
hi take no notice of that guys comments they are utter rubbish and he needs to get him self a job if he has got time to wright rubbish like that if it was not for guys like you we would not be able to see how these historic items where ment to be and pakaged if you want to play with one go buy a plentifull taty one not a rare mint boxed one save them for a collector my lad is after a taty one or a broken johnny seven oma to play with
By: dezurtdude. on 20 Sep 08, 00:43:29
I bought this off of a guy who had some old toys that were never used. I asked him how he had obtained them and he really didn't answer other to say that he picked up the items here and there. I have some other mint and un-used toys and I'm always amazed that they were never used. I sometimes suspect these may have been toys bought for a child who died, and many times, the parents leave the childs room as it was intact with their toys to keep the memory alive or it was simply old store stock.

Are you really the idiot you portray yourself to be???? The videos of the toys I produce are collector items, and like most collectors of anything, they desire the most mint examples they can find. This toy is over 43 years old and survived the test of time and only an IDIOT like you would play with it. I'm sick of you flaming my videos.
By: v10m. on 22 Aug 08, 15:06:41
who cares about the original instructions and screw with mint condition case blahblahblah, the point of a toy is to play with iit, so whats the point of buying it if you never going to use it you sad loser
