this is one wondefull polyphon i first heard one in york musiam in the pub in the street you put an old penney in i was five at the time in1961 i spent menny happy times listning to that one this one i think is simalar anyway thanks for posting id love to own one befor i go of to the grate blue yonder nick cox hull

This is not "Mikado" but "Espana". You can read it on the disc. In the iTunes store there are is Polyphon and a Regina musicbox recording with the same melody (search for "espana waltz").

Each music box is a grandeur art of work. I love their sound charackter and harmony. A gift to one's soul. Too bad they are no longer produced. Imagine making the discs: one hole at the wrong place and you can start all over!!! Thank you very much for posting it.

I had this case made for an "orphaned" Polyphon mechanism. The cabinet maker used spruce for the sound board plus a maple post to transmit the vibrations from the bedplate.

The fullsize POG seems so complicated that it seems like you'd need a degree in music theory to understand how to use it, but this mini POG dumbs it down to mae it simpler for a beginner like me, very cool.

The original POG has 2 octives up. Otherwise, its the same exact tone and everything. If you dont have 300 bucks to blow on the original, then go for the micro.
