Whoa relax now... And the fact that you don't give it a "label" doesn't change the fact that NIN has a label, and it's called Industrial. It doesn't denigrate the music in anyway that I can see. I don't see anyone complaining about Led Zeppelin being called Rock. I don't see any point in complaining about Nine Inch Nails being called Industrial, after all, he has yet to object to it after almost two decades.

Ogh3r how the hell do you know, are you his buddy? Nine Inch Nails is a timeless bit of musical art that is one of a kind, oh you can give it a label but I don't. Its simpley NIN. Should have a shelf of its own. Yeah you can stack your Skinny Puppy and Front 242 etc in the mix but its one of a kind art. Uncomparable.

"worst mismatch" - the two actors you mean? Yes, because of Samantha Eggar's beauty one of the few tragic film endings I didn't agree with - see "Peeping Tom" for a disturbing film with an apparent meaning; this movie was just nasty.... Yes, Terence Stamp was pretty good, however from what I've read Eggar was totally not the Miranda of the book.

Clegg's personality in the film seems so different to in the book. In the book, Clegg would never have had the nerve to think to just grab her like that. He wasn't forward, courageous or quick thinking in any way. The way he feebly tricked her with the dog story spoke volumes about his personality.

Mr. Zonky IBEW member here, What power factor do you get from standaed transmission lines at this time ? You know , a little thing called voltage drop? When you look at nuclear vs sun energy don' forget solar is transmitted for free with 0 waste. Nuclear must be generated then transmitted at a loss and the waste must be dealt with by burning of fossil fuel (trucking it out). Solar is point source power that must be further enginered. So you know, I'll be graduating from ASU as a mechanical engineer in May 2009. You're right theres one kilowatt, max. Then factor in the efficiency of any device you use to make that energy useful. Thermal efficiency of any steam power cycle is about 50%. 500W=~1.5 computers Photo voltaics are just as inefficient, and more expensive to produce. I'm just saying theres no magical solution here. There is generally about 1000 watts per square meter available from the sun for a number of hours per day. You sure are a pessimist. You somehow conclude that nuclear is the way to go, from a video of fresnel lens destruction... I believe that solar power will be harvested in a cost-effective way very soon. So many great engineers are working on the solutions.

Thermodynamics shows there is a difference between heat and temperature. Focusing the sun only concentrates the light energy in one place, giving the high temperature shown. Unfortunately, there is only a certain amount of power available per ft^2. See how the bubbles form only on a small area only on the inside surface... Theres only enough heat to boil that much beer. You would need a very large, expensive, and probably very fragile collector to power a city. Nuclear is the way to go.

Fresnel lens blocks out certain portions(zones) of a light wave that would be out of phase with other parts and cause destructive interference and therefore lower the intensity. This is a large fiberglass parabolic shape made out of fiberglass. It is very powerful and has the part A mirror 80%. I will be adding the Part B to jack it up to 95%. The focal point is longer and takes a bit getting used to, especially getting in the habit of walking behind the parabolic mirror:-)

I really think Stamp captured Clegg in a remarkable way in this film. I do not like Eggar as Miranda. For one thing, I don't think she is pretty enough. Nor does she fit the description of Miranda from Fowles' book. Stamp did this film instead of reprising the lead role in Alfie, a role that he originated on both the London and Broadway stages. He had a tough time of it, playing Alfie, and did not want to do it for film. He suggested his best friend, Michael Caine, for the part.

I wonder why pool owner don't just attach a equally wide swatch of black rubber (or something flexible and heat absorbent that wont leech chemicals) to their pool cover? The black mat separated from the pool cover itself by several feet of connecting rope, it could sit in the shallow end, and be "rolled" up on top the pool cover (a white underbelly on the mat would make it indistinguishable when rolled up.)

Heating a swimmingpool with a lens does not make sense at all: The lens must be much bigger than the pool in order to get more sunlight(=energy) than the pool itself. And: who on earth has got a pool with an glasbottom :D The blue tiles on the bottom would transfer part of the sunlight into heat. Maybe laying out a black rubbermat on the bottom of the pool would help getting more heatenergy. But your videos are allways interesting

It depends on the amount of dye. If you cannot see the bottom, a majority of light will be absorbed, less the light reflected off of the surface. Actually you will have a more reflective surface if the water is black. Dark objects on the bottom work great. Winter the sun's angle usually prohibits direct light from hitting the bottom. I want to play for anyone who's willing and open to whatever I have to say, musically. I couldn't care less for their clothing or ethos, as a musician I am hounoured that anyone gives me 5 minutes of their time. Mister Weller was very talented. He also knew it. Not an attractive quality. And if I was a boy, in 1981..I'd have the same haircut. It's very cool.
