Queen-freddie murkury=? when i heard about this album that is the quesiton that raced through my mind. after listning to the album the awnsure is: queen-freddie murkury= a decent rock band with queen-like guitar riffs, but nothing else that sounds like the old queen. so its just, another band. they should change there name because this just isnt queen, its not awefull, but it sounds like a completely different band. also, obviously, the music dosnt even compare to the old queens.

i think its funny when people complain about Paul Rodgers, Brian May and Roger Taylor. Freddie is dead, he died just shy of 17 years ago. He was a great singer and will never be bettered for queen songs, but he is gone. You can complain all you like, but its missing the whole point.Queen+Paul Rodgers have been highly successful so far, doing 2 sellout tours and having a No5 album in the uk. Its not about trying to better freddie, its about having a good time and playing for their many fans again

Once again, I can't stress that enough... Paul Rodgers, Brian May and Roger Taylor are all TITANS. I believe they should have simply started a new project, instead of trying to continue in the path of Queen. I totally agree with VIUDOJOVEN there, not saying it's bad, but it's just like Dire Straits without Mark Knopfler or The Police without Sting. Just not good enough.

Well, excuse me folks, but I'm STILL not sure if this Paul Rodgers thing is really a good idea. He's got a great voice, no doubt, it's just not a voice which sounds good when singing the vocal parts of the "old" Queen songs. I'm not saying he has to fill anyone's shoes, but dammit, Freddie's gone, Deacon's not there, this is no more than 50% Queen, so... If they wanted to continue playing together, why didn't Mr May and Mr Taylor simply start a new band with Rodgers!?!

Saw them live 2 years ago in the Sheffield DVD concert. Some them live 2 days ago on the 5th in Manchester. Im to young sadly to have seen Freddie live but my god don't they do the music justice. Its been mind blowing both times and the MOMENT they announce another tour if they do I will have tickets to see them again, and even if it cost me £200 Id consider it money well spent.

Hearing Jimmie sing gives me goosebumps. There is something about the simplicity of his music that is so appealing. It is not a knock on contemporary artists to say that they cannot compare to him. I can only think of two other songwriters that come close, Merle Haggard and Hank Williams.

Clearly the vocals roles were poorly planned, and the execution was terrible here. Brian May's falsetto ("these are the days it never rains but it pours") was awkward - leaving me to wonder why Roger and Brian even hired Paul Rogers in the first place, if he is unable to sing these lines himself. Its worth noting that David Bowie still does a much better live performance of this song.

You take things way too seriously, now i play music and have a deep respect for all the music i play. But in all respect,Blacks have an inner rythym, a non-textbook style of learning music by the ear, not by books or sheets. So this enables the sounds of virtuoso's like Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder and tons more. LOL...You know where the Black Blues comes from? From White Folk music,Old Time music, Hillbilly music,etc... They started out by immitating the White folks. They came off the plantation in 1866 and what did they see but a bunch of White folks sitting around playing guitar and fiddle and they copied them.That's how Blues started. No, you can see how Black artists who came after Jimmie were influenced by him and copied his style. Everyone from Muddy Waters, to Big Billy Broonzy, the Mississippi Sheiks and Howlin' Wolf have cited Rodgers as a big influence. Jimmie Rodgers was Howlin' Wolf's boyhood idol and he tried to copy his blue yodel but could only get a howlin' sound, so he stuck with it.

Thanks for these videos. My grandfather was Clyde Gordon, he played with Jimmy in Chicago in 1946 and recorded their first record with Harlem Records and later joined Jimmy and Muddy Waters. Clyde passed in January at age 93 and left me his guitars, banjos and one of the largest Jimmy Rogers 78 LP collection in the country. Thanks so much for bringing my Grandfather back for awhile, David from Lexington, KY

I have to say does anyone one you people have a clue what the hell your on about. Paul Rodgers may not replace freddie, and lets face it who could, but he's done pretty damn good with "the cosmos rocks" and I don't think they could have got that from anyone else.

I think the new album is tight musically, this song sounds like Queen for sure. I don't think it's Paul not matching Freddie, it's more like the lyrics are too different from what Freddie would write. Too classic rock trying to be modern or something. Maybe if they work with a lyricist on future recordings to strengthen them. Paul does a great job, and he has a great voice.

This isn't Queen re-inventing Queen. This is a totally new band. Of course it's not going to sound like it was with Freddie Mercury. But what did you expect Brian and Roger to do, just sit around and not make new music? If you loved Queen, you would support Brian and Roger on this new outing.
