I think I must be in the minority when I say that I like the film's ending more. I think it's a far more realistic ending then the book's implication that Alex will simply grow out of his violent ways once he grows up. Not that I don't find the implications of the book's final chapter interesting, but Kubrick's ending does make for a more satisfying narrative conclusion.

its an awesome movie. sure the message is very vague and it was ahead of its time in terms of violence in English movies. but if you look past the great acting and pay attention to the dialogue(mostly from the book) and the direction, u will see that its one of funniest flicks ever. Stanley Kubrick's a genius.

I must say I disagree with most of you. I do not believe Kubic is a genius. I think Anthony Burgess novel is too great to be portrayed in such vulgar way. Alex in the novel sees himself as an artist, and in the movie he's ripped off his elegance and style. Moreover, I believe he could have made a greter use of clasical music for the movie instead of the arrangements made for it. However, the use of Rossini's music, as well as Beethoven, excluding the adaptations of Wendy Carlos, were perfect.
