Oh and mate.. i cant respond to these cos i cant be arsed reading it all, if i were a pc user id be use to reading lots of error messages, but im a mac user so cant be bothered
By: downward1. on 01 Dec 08, 19:58:10
Nope you are correct, it turns out macs are shit. one thing though, youve made a pc that has no problems and hasn't crashed in 5 years, so id go into business if i were you! you are obviously a master, as no pc in the world is this reliable! seriously though, the balls you are coming out with... windows alows plug and play, it takes an hour to get anything working on a pc! a mac just works!
By: ImOnTheTube. on 01 Dec 08, 19:19:50
Whoa this last guy is a dedicated windows guy. These commercials are clever, but the main reason people buy macs is because they were simply told to do so. Yes its brainwashing. I'm neither a mac or pc guy, I think its best not to associate with any; all in all its just a tool. They both have their ups and downs. However the tools that come from apple are way overpriced and thats why I don't bother with getting one.

Worms can, and are capable of, using your modem in order to call expensive numbers, resulting in massive phone bills. They can erase your entire hard drive clean, including your operating system, any files or photos you may have, essentially destorying your computer. Worms can and will log keystrokes to steal passwords, credit details, etc. Worms also install a "backdoor" to allow unathourised access to your system without your knowledge or consent. They can reinstall after being disabled.
By: Ethanace. on 01 Dec 08, 18:08:52
I better add - Mac users reading this, a Worm is NOT a Virus, they are two different things. A worm is far more dangerous, a lot harder to clean off your system, and can account for damage to your personal life as well as your machine. They are compatible with any operating system including Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and other platforms. Worms don't just damage your hard drive like an average virus. Worms can do all sorts of things, and they DON'T EVEN NEED TO BE EXECUTED TO RUN.

There you, 10 reasons why Windows is better than Mac, and I didn't even have to pause to think between each point. It's fact. There are so many advantages that Windows has, and you can't even see it. Unless you can find a valid point and a decent argument against every single point and make a point of your own to outnumber mine - you just got owned.

9. Mac OS X is not allowed to be run on Windows. It can be done with plenty of hacks, but this is very complicated and illegal. Windows however is allowed to be used on a Mac. People who can't afford a MacBook or Computer have to stick with Windows, and they can't use Apple-Only software such as Final Cut Pro, if they wanted too. 10. Mac has absolutely NO security against a Virus or Worm should they get one. It is rare, but Worms on Macs account for more than 4% of the worlds largest botnet.
By: Ethanace. on 01 Dec 08, 17:54:25
8. Software is more abundant for Windows. Yes - there are THOUSANDS of products now cross-compatible with Mac and PC. But old programs (good classics that people still use) and some programs created by individuals sometimes only run on Windows. For example, console emulators are more abundant, and more advanced for Windows. Freeware and shareware is also more in supply. Also, Microsoft releases almost all software for Mac AND Windows. Apple very rarely share their software.
By: Ethanace. on 01 Dec 08, 17:51:50
7. Mac computers have no variety. They all look exactly the same. White, or very rarely black. You can't alter their appearance. "But who wants to? They're beaitiful!" Thats a very immature one-sided opinion. Everyone has different tastes, and some people like to be creative - like the Apple ads like to make out we are. PC's come in all shapes and sizes, you can even get mini PC's now, and you can buy different cases on the market for a cheap price.
By: Ethanace. on 01 Dec 08, 17:47:53
6. Games for the Mac are in VERY limited supply. Assuming you want to try a game someone got you for christmas. You put the CD in and it wont install. So you buy software in order to run the game, or you install Windows over bootcamp, which is also costing money for the Windows CD. You may find the game won't even run anyway, or that you don't like it. Also, installing Windows onto a hard drive running Mac = Less space for games. A fuller hard drive is a slower hard drive.
By: Ethanace. on 01 Dec 08, 17:43:39
5. Windows allows Plug-and-Play, and has done since Windows 98. That's more than ten years ago. Mac has problems with USB, it doesn't even work with my Micro-Camera. This is modern technology, and Mac doesn't "just work" with it. Note that USB stands for "Universal Serial Bus" Universal and Mac doesn't even work with it properly. The only thing I've had no trouble with is with a USB storage device such as a Flash Drive.
By: Ethanace. on 01 Dec 08, 17:41:52
(Continued) 3. Windows is more popular than Mac OS X. This means if problems arise, there is a large online support community able to help you deal with problems. This community is far smaller if you happen to have a small Mac problem, even if it's not serious, it's nice to know you have a helping hand at your disposal. 4. iLife only comes bundled with Mac at a cost of $79. Removing iLife from your purchase reduces the cost of your machine by this amount. My cousin has done this.
By: LordDestros. on 01 Dec 08, 17:38:41
"Every single upgrade is easy...." Not true. The OS 9 -> OS X upgrade had incompatibilities. Leopard had firewall problems for people upgrading from Tiger. Etc. Windows XP comes with Outlook Express for free and Windows Mail is included with Vista. For free alternatives there programs like Mozilla's Thunderbird. Mac OS X can be considered a bad copy of the BSDs or MINIX (considering Apple didn't even create the core but rather mixed existing ones).
By: Ethanace. on 01 Dec 08, 17:38:23
I can give 10 facts as to why Windows is better than Mac OS X without even hesitating to think about them, in fact, I'll list them now for you. -- 10 Reasons Windows is better than OS X -- 1. Windows can be purchased as a CD, allowing greater durability and a spare bootdisk. OS X does not allow this, also removing the greater security of a spare bootdisk. 2. A PC running Windows is far cheaper than Mac running the same specifications. The cheapest MacBook on the market is over £700.
By: Ethanace. on 01 Dec 08, 17:31:33
You don't have to buy Outlook Express 6.0 it comes with Windows for free. I had to install Windows from CD on my own PC I built so I know for a fact it wasn't pre-installed and additonal to the cost of my PC. Also, iLife stands at $79. Go to Google, type it in, and on Apple's page, it is $79. That's over £35. Windows stuff is free. You can't expect to buy a computer and get everything bundled with it unless your a tit who doesn't even use a computer to its full potential.
By: Ethanace. on 01 Dec 08, 17:28:10
when I said *iTunes I meant iLife, my misstype. Obviously your computing knowledge is lacked because your so used to using Mac you can't figure out any problems related to slightly more advanced software for XP or Vista.
By: Ethanace. on 01 Dec 08, 17:26:47
No, I can talk to people using built in messenger, which Mac hasn't got. I can write stories using WordPad, which Mac has TextEdit, which is as bad as Notepad. I can make movies just as well as iMovie. One of my videos only has 600 views but already has 21 five star ratings, and guess what? It was a Windows creation. Not iTunes. I can play music in Windows Media Player, I can store addresses and send emails using address book and outlook express. I can paint stuff too. I rarely use calc.
By: downward1. on 01 Dec 08, 17:21:29
Vista is a bad copy of osx that doesnt work with the rest of windows. You buy os3, you get free upgrades to 3.1 3.2 3.3 etc then macs version of vista comes out, the new osx 4, then free 4.1, 4.2 etc, then you buy osx5. Every single upgrade is easy, most of them free, and all work seamlessly with eachother, not like vista xp, all your programmes still work. I mean you dont evebn get an email package with a pc, you have to buy outlook, which has to be the shittest programme ever!
By: LordDestros. on 01 Dec 08, 17:14:59
"See you built it yourself.. mac is there for you works out of a box...!" In me experiences, most OS's have worked out of the box fine. Operating systems normally do not ship UNLESS they will normally work out of the box. If I wanted to, I could merely pay a manufacturer to pre-install certain software. I have seen Macs crash so that argument seems rather bad. In my experiences, Vista itself doesn't seem bad (post-SP1 at least). IMO MS made a decent amount of mistakes upon initial release.
By: downward1. on 01 Dec 08, 17:14:04
no not at all, macs are not flawless, but for every 1 problem i come across i get 10 on a pc. Im sick to death of me at work using my mac and pc users calling me asking me to come and fix a problem for them on their pcs, and im literally there an hour trying to figure it out. Im no genius on comps but im okay. How about when you get a mac u can literally start doing stuff, a pc you get xp or vista, then what? you gonna sit there an play with your calculator?
By: PrintedCrayon. on 01 Dec 08, 16:44:56
I'm a PC and a Mac. I like them both.
By: RaizerZ. on 01 Dec 08, 15:58:00
I fucking hate macs. Worthless piece of garbage
By: Ethanace. on 01 Dec 08, 15:52:37
Easy, yes, Simple, yes, quick and effeciant, no. Not for right handed people who use it anyway. Unless you only ever use Mac is it easy, but I swap operating systems every single day (windows at home, mac at college) part of my course is to troubleshoot computers.... so why do they give me a Mac? Macs are not flawless.. Vista is riddled with problems yes, and for your info this pc was built in 2004. thats almost 5 years old. Its been half a decade. I dont think it needs much longer to crash.
By: downward1. on 01 Dec 08, 15:50:03
Anyone who uses both pc and mac like me, can see how much sense these ads make! MACS JUST WORK.. easy, effeicient, simple, quick
